Lighting inverters and converters: the heart of your Lighting systems for rolling stock.
Since 1982, KST develops a wide range of inverters and converters for rolling stock. The R&D engineers achieve permanent and numerous tests inside the laboratory and during the manufacturing. Tests and certifications are also performed in independent laboratories and universities. The KST inverters and converters reach a very high level of quality and reliability which gives them a worldwide reputation.
Inverters series for fluorescent tubes
T5 (16 mm) or T8 (26 mm)
The KST inverters for fluorescent tubes are all developed on the same electronic pattern.
They can vary on the type of case, power, input voltage, type and number of lamps in use, dimming, etc … They are available with different types of connectors (ex : Faston, Wago, …).

General characteristics of the inverters
- Low power variation : max 25 % of nominal power
- Operating temperature : -25° to +70°C (Peak of +85°C – T3 Class in conformity with EN 50155)
- Important number of ignitions (>100.000) – optimal preheating for increased tube life
- High resistance to vibrations and shocks (norms hereunder)
- Electromagnetic compatibility (norms hereunder)
- Fire and smoke approved (norms hereunder)
- Conformity to following norms : EN 50311, EN 50155, EN 50011, EN 55022, EN 50121-3-2, NF F 16-101/2, IEC 571-1, IEC 61000-4-2/3/4/5/6, IEC 81, IEC 801-1/2/3, UIC 555-1 OR
Protections against
- Input polarity reversal
- Open circuit and low voltage conditions
- Short-circuits on the ouput terminals
- Internal short-circuits (fuse protection)
- Lamp failure
The CTL series
Designed in accordance with the UIC norms (UIC 555-1 OR).
For one or two tubes, depending on the power and the type of the inverter.
The inverters are also available with dimmer options
The CTLt series
The CTLt is also developed for small spaces.
The CTLt has an output configuration for one tube. Mainly used in buses.
The IRS series
The IRS is developed for small spaces. The IRS has an output configuration for one or two tubes. Mainly used in tramways or trains.
The KTL series
The KTL inverter is developed with a specific case and Wago connectors.
The KTL has an output configuration for one or two tubes. Notably developed for the German market.
The CTLAC series
KST supplies AC/AC electronic inverters
